First ever pet clinic in Bangladesh

Bangladesh’s first dedicated veterinary teaching and training facility for pets was established by Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) in 2018, known as the Teaching and Training Pet Hospital and Research Centre. Located in Purbachal, Dhaka, the hospital was designed to provide both advanced clinical care for companion animals and practical training for veterinary students. It serves as a modern, fully equipped facility with diagnostic and surgical tools such as X-ray, ultrasound, anesthesia machines, endoscopy equipment, dental units, and ophthalmic instruments. On average, it treats 40–50 pets daily, offering services ranging from routine check-ups and vaccinations to complex surgical procedures. Beyond patient care, the hospital plays a vital role in veterinary education and research, allowing students and professionals to gain hands-on experience while contributing to the development of animal healthcare standards in Bangladesh. This pioneering institution marked a significant step forward for the country’s veterinary sector, bridging the gap between academic training and practical service delivery.
